Here's What Happened At The US Open During Last Night's Rain Delay

US Open 2012 Catch Arthur Ashe

How do you entertain yourself at the U.S. Open during a rain delay at the venue's largest stadium?

Play catch, of course.

Last night, we went to Flushing Meadows to (try) see what could possibly be Andy Roddick's final career match.

After an hour of rain delay, we finally made it into Arthur Ashe stadium to see the highlight of the night -- the fourth round matchup between Roddick and Juan Martin Del Potro.

With the fourth round nearly an hour underway, play was suspended a second time at 6 all in the first set with Roddick up 1-0 in the tiebreak. After a rainy afternoon, at 9:00 p.m., many spectators succumbed to the stormy weather and headed home.

However, the rest of the fans weren't going to let a little rain ruin our night at the Open.

Audience members broke out tennis balls and began playing catch cross court with strangers from the lower deck all the way to the higher levels.

We've been going to the Open for quite some time, and it was unlike anything we've ever seen on Center Court.

It was spontaneous, it was fun, it was carefree, and, we caught it all on tape ... until the U.S. Open staff confiscated the balls.

Here it started up again, but ended with some bad news:
