San Diego Chargers: Rookie Defensive Back Shareece Wright a Big Buzz on Twitter

It is incredibly amazing how fast the world of social media actually works, especially when an NFL football player posts a comment on Twitter about his own team.

Could it be possible to get "foot in mouth syndrome" when posting a comment on Twitter?

If so, San Diego Chargers rookie defensive back Shareece Wright may need to cite his sources or speak with team officials before posting another tweet like he did on Monday night: "Downtown LA looking nice. Wait till that football stadium gets built. #Los Angeles Chargers"

That is a bold statement!

It didn't take long for Chargers' fans following the rookie's Twitter feed or having seen the tweet made by Wright to start firing back at him.

Wright also fired back at fans.

The tweet even caught the attention of the local FOX News affiliate, FOX 5 San Diego, as a post regarding Wright's tweet ended up on FOX 5 San Diego's Facebook page.

Where Wright has the gall to even question the fans of the San Diego Chargers, especially after his tweet (and watching the Chargers experience a six-game losing streak and second straight year without a spot in the postseason), is beyond me.

The question I’m wondering is, how does a rookie defensive back come to the assumption the Chargers are even thinking about relocating to Los Angeles?

Was it just a bonehead comment made by an immature and naive rookie that has now been taken completely out of context?

Probably.

Should Wright think twice next time about posting a comment on a social media outlet, especially about such a sensitive issue within the county and city of San Diego?

Absolutely!

It would be wise that the young rookie keep up on current events and happenings regarding the team he plays for and the city in which his team plays in.

According to a report from The San Diego Union-Tribune's website, utsandiego.com, early last week, the mayor of San Diego, Jerry Sanders, and Chargers president and CEO Dean Spanos announced in a joint statement that the Chargers would not pay the roughly $24 million needed to trigger the escape clause in their current lease agreement and would play the 2012 season at Qualcomm Stadium.

Wright was drafted by the Chargers in third round of the 2011 NFL draft with the 82nd overall pick. The 5'11", 182-pound defensive back out of Southern California appeared in only seven games during the 2011 season, recording three tackles in a Week 12 loss to the Denver Broncos and one tackle in a Week 14 win against the Buffalo Bills.
